A Kitchen Designed for Confidence
Traditional shaker style
Dove Grey
U Shape with high wall units
Maine range
For this West Sussex homeowner, the brief wasn’t about trends or show‑stopping features. It was about confidence. Creating a kitchen that feels comfortable to use, easy to move around, and reassuring in the small, everyday moments.
The existing space felt tight and a little limiting. Together, the focus shifted to making better use of what was already there. Improving access. Reducing effort. Making sure everything felt within reach. The result is a kitchen shaped around how it’s used, not how it’s meant to look.
The Maine Shaker door in Dove Grey sets a gentle, welcoming tone. It’s a style that feels classic without being formal, helping the room feel lighter and more open.
Paired with Grey Bardolino Oak cabinetry, there’s a warmth that runs through the space. Subtle texture and soft contrast keep things feeling relaxed and homely, rather than overly styled. The Calacatta Gold Silestone worktop adds a lift, with enough detail to catch the light while staying durable and dependable for everyday use.
This kitchen is planned to make daily tasks simpler and safer.
The oven is positioned at a comfortable height, with a tuck‑away door that slides neatly out of the way. It removes the need to bend or twist, making cooking feel easier and more confident. Storage follows the same thinking. Everyday items are easy to reach, without stretching or awkward movement.
Nothing complicated. Just thoughtful decisions that make the kitchen feel intuitive.
In a compact kitchen, every detail counts.
To keep the room feeling open, warmth comes from a plinth‑level heater. That’s the discreet heater fitted at the base of the cabinets, gently warming the space without taking up wall room. It’s a quiet addition, but one that makes a real difference.
Handles were chosen with care too. Matt black fluted bars add contrast against the soft grey doors, and they’re comfortable to grip, making drawers and cupboards easy to use throughout the day.
The finished kitchen supports independence without drawing attention to itself. It’s easy to move around, easy to use, and easy to enjoy.
Every element has been considered, from how doors open to where the oven sits, all working together to create a space that feels safe, capable and completely liveable. Because good design isn’t just about how a kitchen looks. It’s about how it helps you get on with your day.

Plan your kitchen online, minus the tape measure panic and guesswork.
