What is covered under our retail guarantee?

Each guarantee starts from the date of original purchase for the period stated. PRKs’ obligations under the guarantees are limited to repair, replacement on an exchange basis, or the issue of a refund of the costs of the goods or those parts of the goods which are defective (at PRKs’ sole discretion). This guarantee applies to;

• domestic use only and covers defects in material and workmanship in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom products as listed below, manufactured, and sold by PRK in the United Kingdom.
• the person who purchased the home furniture product from PRK. It is not transferable to any other person.
• home furniture products used entirely within a domestic environment for personal use, and within the environment intended by their design.

 

Your new PRK Home furniture product has the benefit of a manufacture guarantee which covers the failure of materials purchased as detailed below:

Exclusions

The PRK guarantee does not apply to appliances or accessories supplied by PRK, to products installed in professional or business premises including rental properties, student accommodation or similar. The guaranteed product must be correctly installed, located, and used in accordance with any manufacturer’s instructions provided or made available with the product.

 

In addition, the Guarantees do not cover:

• replacement of any accessories and/or consumable items.
• damage or repairs required as a direct or indirect result of:

1. wilful damage, negligence, accidental damage, misuse of a product.
2. alterations or repairs made by a third party.
3. failure to store or use the guaranteed product properly and in accordance with PRK’s or manufacturer instructions.
4. swelling due to excessive moisture or other neglect.
5. improper storage following delivery, rot and/or infestation following delivery, leaks (or similar incidents).
6. damaged or repairs caused by faulty or incomplete installation and/or repairs by an unauthorised person.
7. damage caused by events outside PRKs’ control, including but not limited to household fires, explosion, contact with corrosive matter, extreme weather conditions, flood, or vandalism.
8. damage caused because of fair wear and tear; and/or
9. damage caused or contributed to by pets, insects, or other animals.

 

What will we do to correct the problem?

PRK will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under this guarantee. If considered covered, PRK through its own service operations, will then, at its sole discretion, repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. If the item is no longer available, PRK will provide an appropriate replacement within the same style and price range. It is PRK that determines, at its sole discretion, what constitutes an appropriate replacement. An appropriate replacement constitutes a product of the same type and in the same price range as the original. If you prefer to upgrade to a product of a higher specification, you may request this, but PRK will then charge you the difference between the price of the like-for-like replacement and the requested replacement product.

 

Supply Only

PRK have access to a network of experienced and approved installers, however, should you wish to make separate arrangements for the installation of your home furniture then the guarantee is subject to the following conditions.

• Your guarantee will commence 2 working days from your delivery date.
• We ask all damages or missing items are reported within 48 hours from delivery, anything after this will be chargeable.
• Any issues reported after the 48 hours will be assessed under the above guarantee terms.

 

Your general legal rights

This guarantee gives you specific legal rights and is provided to you in addition to the rights given to you by law. It does not in any way affect the rights given to you by law. Items excluded from this guarantee may still be covered by the rights given to you by law.
